The Thinkmaya Blog: Are we taking the time to meditate?

  • Pink Ink · 1 year ago
Hi! Found you through Dave Fowler.:-). Meditating...just exactly what I need right now. It seems I just DO anymore. Thanks for the reminder. And btw, what a sweet episode with your husband :-)

I used to have little ones, too. Now they are 12, 10 and 8, and I am still stay at home but at a different stage in life. Enjoy the tears and laughter :-)

    Hi Maya,

I don't meditate, but do realize by changing our perspective of things, we can often change the results.

P.S. That's a cute picture of your child's little feet in the puddle.

    Hi Maya,

First I wanted to thank you for visiting Suzie's blog. You are amazing.

As far as meditation goes, whether in the formal sense or in the sense of stopping to think about the big picture, about the important things - I don't do it enough. Thank you for the reminder. What a beautiful post.

    Hi PinkInk -
Thanks for visiting. Yes, I am trying to make the most of the tears and the laughter. It was a day for the shots at the doctor's office - so I had more tears today than laughter :)

    Hi Barbara -
I do not really meditate in the literal sense of the word ...but I am learning to take the time to reflect on life. I have to remind myself constantly. Those feet in the puddle - yes, they are the most adorable :). Thank you!

    Hi Vered -
Thank you for coming by and leaving a note regarding my post. When I write something with personal elements in there, I wonder if anyone else can really relate to it...which is why your feedback meant a lot to me. Please do keep us in the loop regarding Suzie.

Meditation, quiet time, time to clear your head...however you look at it, this is important time. And I'm reminded I don't do it enough. During the nice months (now, but ending soon) I bike to work. And I have found this to be very meditative. It works for me to be out amongst nature, and have the quiet, especially in the mornings along the bike path I take. But once the weather turns colder, I'll stop biking. And then, this, what you wrote, will be my reminder that I need to find time during the day for this activity. And it doesn't have to be a long time. Thank you. And, I think the way you handled your argument with your husband was a wonderful way to put the problem to rest...

I love the idea of meditating with your daughter. I have read about "yoga feeding" which sounds very familiar to your way to radiating love to your child while you feed them quietly.

Thanks for this reminder to make time to meditate. :)

    Hi Lance,

I think I understand what you mean. I just started to train for a marathon - a few weeks back. I love how running gives my mind a break from the day ... I look forward to running everyday because it gives me much more than just the physical exercise in return.

And thank you for visiting my blog and more importantly, sharing!

    Hi Nathalie,

I am curious to know where you read about yoga feeding ... I'd appreciate it if you can send me a link if you remember where you read it.

I have meditated many times in my life and love it! I have not, however, figured out how to make it a regular routine in my life (yet). I'll get there one day. I just haven't found the Ah-Ha moment that has allowed it to stick. Oh how I missed those late night feedings of holding my babes and listening to them sigh. **Bliss**

Hi Maya. The account of your meditation with your daughter gave me a chill. Refocus and celebrate accomplishments, how right you are!

I enjoy meditation, but haven't been practicing it as much as I'd like to lately. Funny how these things come and go in our lives.

Hey Maya, thanks for dropping by Rebel Zen - I will return the favour and subscribe as you have a wonderful writing style. As a new Dad that tale of the nightly bottle made me go all clucky (having a kid has turned me into a big old softy for the little 'uns) and I like the way you've incorporated meditation into a (albeit pleasant) chore!

Thanks for the reminder that grounding myself is about more than me: it's about every relationship I have. It's a connection I haven't really been making in my head. Plus, this made me want to go home and do something nice for my husband! :)
